European Election

Get organized against Right-Wing Development, Reaction and Fascism and Environmental Destruction - fight for Socialism!

ICOR European Coordinators,

From June 6th to 9th, the European Parliament elections will take place in the 27 EU member states and their 448.4 million inhabitants. The ICOR organizations from EU countries and Europe use the associated social debate for the slogan:

In times of great social polarization, the process of turning away from bourgeois parties and parliamentarism; the revolutionary world organization ICOR is strengthening the progressive, left-wing protest of the working class and popular masses against an EU-policy of shifting the burden of crisis and war onto their backs. It takes advantage of the 100th anniversary of the death of the great revolutionary V.I. Lenin for scientific, socialist opinion-forming in close connection with the coordination and cooperation of workers' struggles, the struggles of environmental activists, small and middle farmers, grassroots women and rebellious youth.

Our struggles need perspective!

Proletarians of all countries, unite!

The EU members of Parliament represent the interests of EU citizens…” This is how the European Parliament proclaims its ‘self-image’. In the EU Parliament, EU Commission and the Presidency, the major imperialist powers from France, Germany, Spain and Italy etc. are actually determining the course. In the interests of the European based corporations and banks of the world's sole ruling financial capital. The top priority is to strengthen the competitiveness of the EU alliance in the inter-imperialist competition - economically, militarily and ecologically. This leads to an increasingly right-wing development in almost all European governments, the inclusion of fascists in parliaments such as in Italy, Austria, Sweden, Hungary, the Netherlands, Germany and France.

The EU as an imperialist bloc hypocritically presents itself as a ‘peaceful, humane, modern…’ alliance of states; But reality speaks the opposite language: an unprecedented military build-up, especially with the war in Ukraine and support for the inhumane Israeli warfare in Palestine. The EU itself is furthering the danger of a third nuclear-led world war in the murderous competition for sales and areas of influence and the new division of markets. Military chiefs in Europe are calling for a 'war economy' and the reintroduction of compulsory military service. NATO's largest military exercise in 36 years is currently taking place. In 2022, EU member states spent a record € 240 billion on military spending - an increase of 6% compared to 2021.

ICOR, in contrast, stands for an anti-imperialist peace policy, proletarian internationalism and unification aimed at the revolutionary overthrow of imperialism worldwide and for the free, respectful coexistence of the peoples with their right of self-determination.

The EU and international monopolies are pursuing an unbridled path to environmental catastrophe. The fairy tale of ‘green capitalism’ and the ‘Green Deal’ is used to justify nuclear power, the burning of fossil raw materials, seas reaching a turning point and local environmental crimes; in order to preserve the profit economy in every area and at every price. The use of further genetic engineering in agriculture has currently been made easier.

ICOR stands for the fight to save humanity - this requires a society-changing environmental struggle and the revolutionary achievement of socialist conditions!

The imperialist EU concludes free-trade agreements again and again in favour the international monopoles, at the cost of the environment and the health of the working people. In Europe, Africa and Latin America the agriculture is being ruined, the mass of the peasants bear the consequences. This contributes to the increase of the refugee streams.

The reactionary EU violates human rights every day with its deadly migration policy in the Mediterranean, the further expansion of ‘Fortress Europe’ and the collaboration with the most reactionary and fascist regimes against further migration. In the last ten years, in the Mediterranean alone 28,900 people have been killed while fleeing.

ICOR Europe stands for the right to seek refuge and asylum on an anti-fascist basis. And for the right to make revolution in the national and social liberation struggle.

ICOR supports and coordinates internationally the struggles of the labour, environmental, women's, peasants, peace and youth movements.

These include the millions of people in solidarity with the Palestinian liberation struggle in numerous EU countries and European countries; the strikes and struggles led by trade-unions, e.g. by railway workers; dockworkers' strikes in France for a fair pension and independent strikes in the port of Hamburg (Germany) against privatization and deterioration; mass protests against the strengthening and trivialization of fascist forces such as in Germany and Austria, etc.

To ensure a firm orientation towards the workers' offensive, ICOR and its member organizations need to be strengthened. Contrary to revisionist recommendations of pandering to new imperialist powers such as Russia and China, ICOR stands for the consistent fight against all imperialism - no matter what kind!

United front policy – for ICOR this means equal cooperation in the struggle with all progressive, left-wing and socialist forces. Not an inch for the fascists - no cross-front policy of joining forces with ultra-reactionary and fascist forces!

Support and sign this declaration - we also ask non-ICOR organizations to support this declaration. If you agree with this declaration you can still send your support and sign it. Call on your members in EU countries to support and vote for ICOR parties that are running in the European elections (e.g. in Germany, Cyprus…).

Long live international solidarity –

Solidarity with the Palestinian and Kurdish liberation struggle!

Lenin's teachings are alive -

Forward with ICOR and the international socialist revolution!
