ECC Europa Resolution

International united front against the threatening fascist danger in Europe!

European Coordinators / UPML,

The broad masses look for a social alternative to the crisis-ridden capitalism. Those in power direct this search to the right.

Europe is moving ever more to the right and the European elections have given rise to an intensified fascist threat. In several countries - especially in the major imperialist countries - there is a serious fascist influence: for example inFrance, where the Rassemblement National party led by Marine Le Pen received around 32%.Italy'sfascist Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni clearly won the European elections with Fratelli d'Italia (successor party to the fascist Movimento Sociale Italiano), achieving 28.9% - an increase of more than 20% compared to the 2019 European elections. InGermany, the fascist AfD won almost 16% of the vote. InAustriaand theNetherlands, fascist forces such as the FPÖ and Geert Wilders have been strengthened and are in government in some cases. InPoland, the Konfereracja fascists nevertheless received 12.1% of all votes with a low voter turnout. In other countries, fascist organizations won parliamentary seats in Brussels/Strasbourg. InTurkey, Erdogan has long since established a fascist dictatorship.

However, there is also no uniform development: in a number of European countries, right-wing governments have been voted out of office again, as in Poland. In the UK, the reactionary Sunak government suffered a resounding defeat. The progressive, anti-fascist forces are strengthening and are expanding in their fight against the ultra-right. In the early elections in France, the new anti-fascist electoral alliance “Nouveau Front Populaire” (NFP) came first in the second round of voting, ahead of the repressed Macron government and relegating the RN to third place! In Greece and Belgium, there were successes for left-wing parties such as the KKE and the Party of Labor (PdA). The persistently low voter turnout in the EU elections reflects the tendency to reject bourgeois parliamentarianism, its parties and institutions: In twelve countries, it is below fifty percent (2019: 15). Essentially, these are parliamentary alternatives. The rspective parties range from right-wing bourgeois to left-wing reformist forces. Often as bourgeois anti-fascism in connection with anticommunist „Extremism“ views. The proletarian anti-fascist struggle has to be strengthened at all costs.

We are firmly convinced that it is possible to successfully combat the fascist danger. The striking workers, militant women's movement and rebellious youth can make the fascist successes a temporary phenomenon with an appropriate anti-fascist consciousness. The neo-fascist developments have a strong source in the intensified inter-imperialist competition that needs fascism as its appropriate system of rule. This is why they are promoted and made possible by those in power through their trivialization as “right-wing populists”, by anti-communism, hype in the media and financial support. (In France, the RN will receive well over €12 million a year for its current election results!) Our task is to expose and attack this everywhere and thus destabilize the mass base of the fascist forces.
The call of the European organizations of ICOR before the EU elections is highly topical and has gained in importance with the slogan:

Against rightward development, fascism, war and environmental destruction - socialism!

The latest development underlines the challenge for ICOR Europe to strengthen the anti-fascist struggle and to connect the struggle for the social interests of the working class, for peace and the basic living conditions of human life. The (further) forging of a European and worldwide united front against fascism, war, environmental destruction and imperialism must be tackled consistently.

United front policy- for the ICOR this means cooperation on an equal basis with all progressive, left and socialist forces in the struggle. Not a single foot wide to the fascists - no cross-front policy of joining forces with ultra-reactionary and fascist forces! Cooperation with communists and Marxist-Leninists without reservations and the working class as the driving force.

Themember organizations of ICOR commit themselvesto expose the fascists, their organizations, means and methods. And in particular to make clear the fundamental character of fascism: it is the most reactionary and inhuman system of rule of the capitalist society!

To clarify everywhere in an intense philsophical dispute the social demagogywith which the neo-fascists camouflage themselves.Fascists are enemies of the workers. In Italy, Meloni's first action was to abolish social benefits for the poor. The main enemy are the 500 largest European corporations - not migrants! They stole record profits of 880 billion euros from workers in 2023 alone. And they are responsible for 140 million people (out of 448 million inhabitants of the EU) who are poor or at risk of poverty!

Fascists deny the global environmental catastrophe begun – and particularly the climate catastrophe - caused by imperialismand stand for the unrestricted development of capitalist responsibility for the environmental catastrophe. Climate warming in Europe has now risen to 2.2 degrees above the level of 1850.
Fascism means extreme social chauvinism by putting one's own country and people first and above other peoples.Fascism means high-armament, preparation for war and war !Fascists are the brutal order upholding factor of the capitalist system and stand for racism and Anti.Semitism. Anti-communism and the brutal oppression of the revolutionary working class movement are essential part of fascism. The consistent answer to the intensified fascist danger is the strengthening of ICOR and an active united front policy.

Fight against fascism - Long live international solidarity!

Socialism is the perspective - Forward with the ICOR!

Strengthen the international anti-imperialist united front
against fascism, war and environmental destruction!
