Resolution 5th World Conference

Resolution on ethnic cleansing in Manipur, India

ICOR,

This World conference notes with grave concern that it has been nearly 16 months that the Eastern most province of India is going through a most violent and vicious cycle of ethnic cleansing of Kuki-zo Christian tribals. The ruling governments in state and centre have invoked Meitei chauvinism and Hindutva communalism to perpetrate the most heinous crimes against humanity, killing the Kuki-zo in their hundreds and outraging their womenfolk in broad daylight an in public places. The ethnic strike has hurt the historically and culturally advanced Meitei people also.

However this World conference identifies the real culprits behind this ethnic carnage to be the crony capitalist Adani, backed by Modi to the hilt, bent upon cultivating harmful palm oil in 66,000 acres of hilly areas in Kuki-zo inhabited areas. The conference has also identified the plunderers of natural oil, uranium and plutonium to be inciting this violence.

The BJP-RSS led state and central governments have not only exacerbated the violence, but its supremo Modi has refused to visit the state even once. This World conference calls for total cessation of violence begot by this ethnic violence begot by this ethnic cleansing, upholds rights of tribals and religious minorities, federal reorganization of Manipur with multilayered autonomy, and halt to plunder of natural resources of Manipur.
