The Israeli military launched a massive attack against Iran on June 13, 2025, and Iran fired back in short order. The Israeli army attack involved 200 fighter jets, which attacked 100 targets throughout Iran. Among them was the Iranian nuclear facility Natanz. Iran retaliated with an attack by 100 drones and massive missile fire. Two regional religious-ultra-reactionary powers are thus competing for supremacy. Especially Western imperialist big powers are trying to exploit the situation for their own interests. A conflagration on the backs of the peoples is looming. In the meantime the USA has intervened in a massive way using bunker-busting bombs.

Several Iranian nuclear scientists and high-ranking military officers were murdered, apparently under the direction of the Israeli secret service Mossad. This is an extraordinarily dangerous situation that is exacerbating the situation in the hotbed of war in the Middle East and intensifying the threat of world war.

The situation represents a highly explosive open war between two countries that could lead to a military conflagration. Israel justifies its attacks with the Iranian nuclear program. However, there has been no qualitative change in this, and new negotiations between Iran and the USA were imminent. They are being sabotaged by Israel’s aggression.

Israel’s army and the secret service Mossad had been preparing the military operation intensively for years and are working towards a regime change. It is part of the strategy to achieve a Greater Israel.

The fiercest battle for the redistribution of power in this region is raging in the Middle East. It is being fought between the imperialist big powers and the aggressively operating powers Israel, Turkey and Iran. Iran is supported by China and Russia, who are holding themselves back in the present war. Iran plays a key role for the BRICS camp, among others things in China’s Belt and Road Initiative. US President Donald Trump praised Israel’s attack and said: “There’s more to come. Much more.” Israel is currently the main warmonger with its attacks on Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Iran, and its genocidal war of annihilation against Gaza. Israel acts with the support of the NATO countries, which hypocritically portray its aggression as “right to self-defense.”

The military escalation also serves the Israeli-Zionist leadership as an escape from internal crises and international pressure, such as demands for accountability for the war crimes committed in Gaza. The Islamist-ultra-reactionary mullah regime in Iran, which suffered very heavy losses in this war, tries to save itself by massively attacking Israel with missiles and drones and continues to threaten Israel with destruction.

In this context, the International Coordination of Revolutionary Parties and Organizations (ICOR) affirms:

• Its unequivocal condemnation of the Zionist aggression against Iran, which it sees as a continuation of the ongoing war crimes against the peoples of the Middle East.

• Its unwavering and full support for the struggle and heroic resistance of the Palestinian people and for all revolutionary and anti-imperialist resistance forces in the region.

• This war is a reactionary war on both sides.

• ICOR declares its support for the struggle against the Zionist-fascist regime in Israel. It declares its support for the struggle against the mullah regime in Iran.

• Its absolute rejection of all forms of imperialist intervention in the Middle East. Purposefully planned so-called normalization projects aim to portray Israel’s policy as “normal.” At the same time they represent a betrayal of the peoples of the region and aim to legitimize the Zionist occupation.

• Its call to all forces of worldwide liberation to strengthen independent revolutionary internationalist solidarity against the genocidal and imperialist war projects in the Middle East and worldwide and to overthrow the warmongers.

• Let us work for a worldwide movement against fascism and war.

ICOR calls for an end to the slaughter, for an immediate and unconditional armistice.

Worldwide mass resistance can prevent a world war – only socialism and communism can secure lasting peace!
