The EU Commission hypocritically presents itself as a “force for peace” - and is pursuing a gigantic €800 billion arms build-up. In a “coalition of the willing”, the EU summit on March 6 decided with 26 states (without Orban, Hungary) to continue to provide unrestricted support for the Selenskyi regime - including massive arms deliveries. In a second declaration, 27 heads of state and government (with Orban, Hungary) decided to embark on the path of “rearming Europe ... ”. EU Commission President von der Leyen proposed in early March a hundreds of billions of euros “plan to rearm Europe”, including a relaxation of debt rules. This is the EU's imperialist response to the aggressive solo effort of US imperialism led by the new President Trump. A fascist supported by billionaires and monopolies. This openly aggressive foreign policy of US imperialism represents a new quality. It is ruthlessly aimed at strengthening the USA, with an eye and focus on the main adversary China - economically, politically and militarily. The massive rearmament of the EU goes hand in hand with its escalating war against migrants and refugees. Many EU countries are criminalizing those fleeing wars, poverty and imperialist exploitation - often caused or intensified by these very powers.

Those who practice high-armament want war!

All imperialist top politicians and heads of government talk peace phrases - and ruthlessly prepare for a third world war. The ICOR declaration on the 2024 European elections already states: “The EU itself is promoting the danger of a third nuclear-led world war in the murderous competition for sales and areas of influence and the redivision of markets.” This is now rapidly becoming reality. England, France and Germany are fighting for the leading role in Europe. Macron fueled the nuclear armament of the EU.

War economy on the backs of the workers and the masses!

War production boosts an immense increase in EU and national debt - also through national programs. In various countries, such as Germany, “special assets” are to be created for the military and infrastructure. The term “assets” is intended to suggest the opposite of reality: Debt and redistribution from the bottom to the top.The exploitation of people and nature is to be dramatically increased. The imperialists also want to use it to boost the economy.

There must be no “truce” with the imperialists' war policy - neither with Trump, Putin, nor with Von der Leyen... That was and is also Lenin's message before and during the First World War - against the betrayal of many social democratic parties with their war support for “their” governments.

Not a cent, not a woman and not a man for your wars!

We need a strong united front against fascism, war and imperialism!

The bourgeois mass media are spreading the message that there is no alternative to rearmament. Those in power play on the fear that “war is imminent”! In not a few European countries we have an acute fascist danger with the electoral successes or government participation of fascist parties. All bourgeois media trivialize this development by talking about “right-wing populists”. Aggressive foreign policy is matched by repression and reaction at home.

But resistance is growing! In Belgium, 100,000 trade unionists took to the streets in February and March to protest against the austerity policies of the new reactionary-fascist government headed by Prime Minister Bart De Wever.Their plans highlight what the downside of the war economy means: state wage cuts, lowering the pensions of low earners, savings in the public sector, further deterioration of the right to strike ... In France, there are numerous local strikes against the destruction of jobs.

The ICOR stands for anti-imperialist peace politics, proletarian internationalism with the alliance for the revolutionary overcoming of imperialism worldwide and the free, respectful coexistence of peoples with the right to self-determination. This requires socialist constellations! Worldwide!

In the new global political situation, the ICOR stands for patient consciousness raising about the capitalist roots of fascism, war and the shattered world economic and financial sittuation. Stop the warmongers - now! Let's forge a broad democratic front of active resistance. Let us overcome existing differences and join forces. We propose that public protest actions be organized in all European countries if the national parliaments want to decide on the approval of the 5-point plan. Let us raise our voices for peace, democracy and socialism in workers' struggles and strikes, peace manifestations, environmental protests and May Day demonstrations.
