Solidarity action for anti-war activist dismissed without notice
Dear friends, dear comrades,
We ask you to support international solidarity with an anti-war activist who has been dismissed without notice. Imperialist Germany is one of the biggest supporters of the Israeli government alongside the USA. The Halle/Leipzig airport plays an important role in this, as it is the European hub for arms shipments not only to Israel but also to Ukraine.
On August 23, hundreds of people marched to Leipzig airport under the slogan “March to Airport” to protest against arms deliveries for the genocide in Gaza. Among other things, they demanded an end to all military support for Israel and a diplomatic and economic boycott. Airport employees are being called upon to refuse any involvement in arms deliveries. Christopher T., who works for the international logistics monopoly DHL and is a union representative for Ver.di, also spoke at the rally. He said:
“As airport workers, it is also very important to us that our work, of which we are so proud, that we engage in global trade and connect the world, that our work does not serve war, that our hands do not serve war.”
For this, he has now been dismissed without notice. Please organize solidarity with Christopher! Establish contact with other anti-war activists who are experiencing reprisals. Of particular importance at the moment is the solidarity of company and union representatives or branches (be sure to name the union and position). Secondly, there are Palestine solidarity organizations that support him. Thirdly, the solidarity of political organizations is of course also important. Please send us your statements of all kinds, and we will forward them to the relevant solidarity portals with which we are in close contact and which have asked us to take appropriate action.
An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us!
Long live international solidarity!
