The United Front protests resolutely against the seizure of the Handala ship by the Israeli army 40 nautical miles off the coast while on its mission to Gaza.
The Handala is part of the Freedom Flotilla and carried 21 civilians representing 12 countries, including parliamentarians, lawyers, journalists, labor organizers, environmentalists, and other human rights defenders. One of them is Hatem Aouini, activist and founding member of the International Anti-Imperialist United Front against Fascism, War and Environmental destruction.
The attack on Handala is the third violent act by Israeli forces against Freedom Flotilla missions this year alone. The vessel carries unarmed civilians and humanitarian cargo, including baby formula and other life-saving aid for Palestinions in Gaza. It poses no threat and is operating in full accordance with international maritime, humanitarian, and human rights law.
The Genozide Israel conducts against the Palestine people especially in Gaza is an expression and currently one of the worst forms of Fascism, War and Environmental Destruction worldwide.
Fascism because the fascists Netanyahu and Trump collaborate ylosely with the zionist aggression;
War because as peak of the displacement of the Palestinian people that has been going on for 77 years now a deadly genozide is conducted with 60,000 men, women and children killed in Gaza;
Environmental destruction because this war is an ecocide to a high extend, supposed to make future live in Palestine impossible.
Millions of people all over the world are turning against it, supporting the determined fight of the Palestinians, their steadfast will to survive, their resistance against their displacement. There is no stopping that!
The United Front and its member organizations will continue to be part of that in all of our countries, start and join activities, demonstrations, protest in varied forms, collect donations.
We also support legal means against the inhuman and unlawful war of Israel. And currently we call upon everyone to contact their foreign ministries in order to protect the people on the Handala ship.
