Communists Defending Rojava Call for International Solidarity

Revolutionary Communist Movement (TKŞ),

n the face of large-scale attacks by the fascist-jihadist Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) militias, which are closely collaborating with the imperialist bloc, comprising the USA, Israel, the EU, Saudi Arabia, and the fascist Turkish state, against the territories of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES), communists in Rojava have reaffirmed their commitment to join the self-sacrificial people's resistance. These actors have made common agreements to divide the region according to their destructive interests. The attacks are aimed at liquidating the achievements of the Rojava Revolution, thus necessitating the complete mobilization of the people and the formation of a united front.

The Revolutionary Communist Movement (TKŞ) condemns that the attack on Rojava is not just militarily but also politically and ideologically motivated. The goal of these attacks is to destroy the democratic, anti-colonial, women-liberating, and ecological achievements of the revolution. Across numerous defense lines around the cities of Rojava, the communists declare: "We are here to defend our people, our cities, and our land. We will fight against the al-Sharaa and ISIS militias with the resistance from Şêxmeqsûd, Kobane, and Tişrîn, and with the spirit of martyr Ziyad Heleb."

The Revolutionary Communist Youth (CKŞ) and Revolutionary Communist Women (JKŞ) have also intensified their involvement on the front lines, stating: "As communist youth and women, we are ready to defend our city and our neighborhood. We are here to support the resistance and preserve our revolutionary principles."

On January 18, 2026, the Şehit Yılmaz Behrareş Batallion in Kobanê called on the population to join in unified self-defense measures. As part of the general mobilization announced by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Yasmin Süleyman emphasized: "Our path is that of Ziyad and Deniz. It is time to expand our resistance movement, from the mountains to the cities." She called for a collective effort to defend the cities, establish self-defense units, and organize for the revolution.

During demonstration in the now besieged Kobanê, slogans such as "Long live the resistance of the Rojava Revolution," "Long live the resistance of Kobane," and "Long live the women's resistance" were chanted. In Qamişlo, the communist youth organization JKŞ began training self-defense units, and families from Afrîn also received weaponry training to strengthen the region's defense capabilities.

As the occupation attacks on Rojava continue, the population is actively participating in the declared mobilization, with a particularly noticeable level of involvement from women. In Dirbêsiyê, Arab Alevi women joined the Baran Serhat Batallion, established by communists, and have taken their positions at the watch posts. These women, standing alongside Rojavalı communists, emphasize that they are fighting for the right to a safe, free, and communal life.

As the fascist and jihadist HTS militias, aided by Turkish weapons and support, continue their attacks on the Rojava Women's Revolution, women from Rojava, including Arab Alevi women, have taken up arms and gone out into the streets. They emphasize their shared enmity against the imperialist forces, the occupying Turkish state, and the ISIS/HTS militias. In the streets of Dirbêsiyê, Kurdish and Arab Alevi women stand united at the watch posts. Among these women are Arab Alevi women who have survived the massacres carried out by HTS in recent months, now fighting side by side with women from other nations to defend their freedom.

The growing participation and mobilization in all parts of North and East Syria, from Qamişlo to Kobanê, as well as the broad support from Kurds in both the north and south, demonstrates the firm resolve of the population to defend the revolution and oppose the occupiers. International support for the Rojava Revolution continues to grow, and the population stands united behind the QSD and YPJ fighters on the front lines. Between January 26 and February 1, international actions have been called for, with February 1 declared as the Global Day of Solidarity with Rojava.

The resistance in Rojava is an example of the determination of oppressed peoples to refuse to become victims of imperialist interventions and plans, and to instead defend their dignity and freedom against all attempts of genocide.
