Fight imperialist intervention and any military attack – For a democratic future for Iran

Iran is once again at a historic turning point. A new wave of struggle has erupted from the streets of cities and villages across the country. This uprising is the concentrated expression of decades of oppression, exploitation, humiliation, and stolen futures under a theocratic regime that has systematically denied the people their most basic rights. Even if the uprising has been or will be crushed with the brutal bloodshed of thousands murdered and tens of thousands wounded, the embers are smoldering and proletarian internationalism is called upon to show continued solidarity.
From the outset, the Islamic Republic was based on the destruction of democratic rights and freedoms such as the right of assembly and association. Women's, workers' and trade union rights were denied, as were the rights of oppressed peoples and religious communities, such as the Kurds and others. Every major protest movement of recent decades has opposed this. Following the murder of Jina Amini, women and young people in particular have rebelled against compulsory veiling and patriarchal rule.
Triggered by the catastrophic collapse of living conditions, a new and even more radical phase of struggle has now emerged among the lowest strata of society—workers, unemployed youth, marginalized poor urban and rural dwellers. Their message is simple and direct: this regime must go.
The absence of reformist slogans is not a weakness, but a sign of political maturity born of bitter experience. People are risking their lives because, in reality, everything has already been taken from them. This is precisely what gave the uprising in January 2026 its explosive and transformative potential.
When the government takes brutal action, it is not against the Israeli and US secret services and their agents in Iran, but against the masses who are fighting a just struggle. The government's actions must be met with active resistance!
The working class at the center
The working class is at the center of this crisis. It is most affected by inflation, unemployment, and the dismantling of social services. Even if we do not yet see the working class acting as a unified, organized force with nationwide structures, this must be understood as a direct consequence of decades of brutal repression. Independent unions have been banned, revolutionary organizations physically destroyed, and any attempt at collective organization met with imprisonment, torture, and execution.
Nevertheless, the working class is present on the streets everywhere. This reality is not a reason for pessimism—it is a call to action.
No to the Shah, no to the Supreme Leader
At the same time, the danger of a counterrevolution is real. The Western imperialist powers are actively trying to shape Iran's future according to their own interests. Through massive media campaigns and political support, they are promoting the Shah's son as a so-called alternative. This project is not based on the aspirations of the Iranian masses, but on the strategic calculations of imperialist capital.
Students, women's movements, oppressed peoples, underground unions, and democratic organizations have repeatedly declared: “Down with the oppressor, be it the Supreme Leader or the Shah.” The nostalgic, backward-looking layers that are being mobilized today for the Shah's son are narrow sections of society, often lumpenproletarians. And the Western international media are mobilizing for him. He does not stand for liberation, but for another form of despotism.
In Iran, too, democracy and freedom for workers and the working people will ultimately only be achieved through revolution and socialism.
For a united front against fascism and imperialism, for democracy, freedom, and the perspective of socialism
We are not on the side of the governments in Washington, Brussels, or Tel Aviv, but on the side of the independent action of the people and their genuine emancipation.
Under the conditions of fascist rule, the building of a united front against fascism and imperialism is a strategic historical necessity for the unification of workers' and women's movements, students, oppressed nationalities, revolutionary democrats, and Marxist-Leninists. Unity in this struggle does not require ideological uniformity on all issues. Rather, it requires unity in action and a democratic culture of debate about future perspectives.
What is also lacking in Iran today is a strong Marxist-Leninist/Communist party that is rooted in the masses and could lead the freedom movement. However, building such a party faces extreme difficulties under the current conditions. This makes the struggle for democratic rights and freedoms all the more important!
Imperialist aggression against Iran is linked to the efforts to reorganize the region and not independent of the ongoing attacks against the Palestinians and the genocide in Gaza or the invasion of Venezuela.
Spontaneous rebellion must be transformed into conscious, organized struggle. Only a genuine democratic revolution can create the conditions necessary for the preparation and implementation of a socialist revolution, which alone will mean the actual liberation of the Iranian people from exploitation and oppression.
Support the democratic, secular, and progressive forces in their struggle. Amplify their voices. Defend their right to determine their own future.
No to all reactionaries.
No to all imperialists.
The suppression of their struggles and uprisings has not broken the will of the Iranian people. They deserve a future that they forge with their own hands, shaped by the immense, creative power of the organized masses rising up from below. We stand with them.
Solidarity with the struggle of the peoples of Iran for freedom and democracy!
Strengthen the revolutionary and progressive forces in Iran!
Develop the united front against fascism and war in every country and worldwide – solidarity with the people of Venezuela, Palestine, Rojava, Greenland ...!
Strengthen ICOR and all democratic and revolutionary parties and organizations!
